The "well it's the first I've looked at, but it drives ok, so I'll take it" type...Kieren
Just wish one would turn up when I'm selling things :)
Im sure many of you have sold your cars privately over the years, and noticed the trend in "tradingpost kings" who lurk around, a couple spring to mind:Olley
- The classic testdriver - one who comes around first thing, flogs the car senselessly opens everything that opens and closes and goes away to "think about it".
- The callback king - 27 phonecalls later and still not sure if he wants to look at it.
- The goodguy/badguy routine - often a father and son team, one seems interested while the other looks deeply concerned about the 1cm stone chip on the front bumper etc..."hmm, i dunno"
- The son wants it dad hates it.
- The dad wants it son hates it.
- The "sold" buyer who buy's without even pulling the hood.
- The one hundred phone call's of "I'm gettin finance".
- The "I can't get insurance" problem.
- The one hundred call's after it's sold problem.
- The crap car / motorcyle that wont even start and it sells even if the new owner has to walk/push new purchase home.
- The unblemished car/motorcyle that no-one is interested in.
- The my sisters good condition LJ Torana, she left it parked out front of her house which she got sick of and sold because of so many people knocking on her door and inquiring about it.
- The potential buyer who want's all the gadget's.
- The potential who hates all the gadget's
- The "I wont buy it if it's been smoked in"
- The buyer who looks like all he is gonna do is smoke in it.
- The buyer who want's to purchase your hi performance road bike with a gleam of boy racer in his/her eyes and your reluctant to sell it to em in fear they will kill emselves
- The gotta have every car type (not a dig at Dan)The meticulous roadworthy procedure you endure when trying to sell your car, then a tyre kicker comes along and grieves you over nothing, yet you test drive a car dealer vehicle and it's barely roadworthy needs new windscreen, bulbs etc.. and the dealer claims car has current roadworthy.
